Addictions

Smokers are addicted to nicotine, the physical movement of holding a cigarette, or puffing a smoke ring. Women are into buying Chanel handbags or Gucci shoes, even when they have wiped all the credit cards with the maximum credit limits. Internet and computers eat up over 10 hours of our time every day. Is that an addiction? Yes.

What's else we can't resist in our lives? A loving feeling, a warm hug, a kiss and a smile from someone you love.

No matter how intelligent, how smart we are, it seems like we might have any type of addictions. Subconsciously we are programmed to love something that make us feel good. It gradually has become a "habit" and eventually an "addiction" that is out of our control.

Today, I heard a story about a young girl who is in her early thirties. Her goal is to look perfect with fairer skin, "golden-ratio proportions of the ideal face" and a slimmer body. It's not surprisingly to learn how much medical cosmetic treatment she receives over the year - botox, liposuction, restylane, RF, you name it.

I reflect on something I have done it over and over again. Why? Maybe it's an addiction.
