Inspiring Stories
It was a tremendous week. The highlight was a conference about women of influence. This year's event was actually very inspiring as many speakers shared their personal stories on how to success, like a woman who was born in Iran and had changed schools for 7 times in 12 years. That made her a very sociable person and adaptable to new environment. She evolved from a chemist to a business woman with a lot of hurdles but eventually through her network of friends and hard work, she succeeded.
The opening kick started with the speech of the Chief Secretary who talked about trying to balance work and family life after years of services in the public sector. Her speech was full of wisdom and she is, no doubt, an eloquent speaker. We work hard and at the same time we should take our hard-earned holidays to enjoy quality time with family and friends.
I learnt from this event, the power of speech is to speak authentically and from your heart. Sharing personal story always catch people's attention rather than just focusing on theories. Then I just wonder, if CEO, senior executives can rely on someone to write her speech anymore if personal story has become the soul of a speech.
