Green company

"Green Energy", "Green Company" and "Green Environment" are what people pursue these days.

When I was searching for a hotel, I found a website which helped you sort out whether a particular hotel was eco-friendly or not. Business Week has been publishing quite many features on green issues these days. At office, I received calls from a "green association" which pitched for business by inviting whatever companies to sponsor them. Those companies can then label themselves in support of the environment. Isn't it funny?

So, a friend told me that CLP and HK Electric implement some of the eco-friendly measures only due to government incentives to boost its profit or minimize its tax. It happened that a friend of mine was so eager to find out the "wind power" measure set up by HK Electric on Lamma Island. Luckily I told her not to walk back the trail for over half an hour to find out where it is.

While riding the boat back to Central, we could finally spot out that so-called wind power... a single "windmill" that is idle to do nothing for our power. Open your eye wide... can you spot it?

Are you going to think twice before you label a company is doing a green job?
